If I boot into Windows with the HD 4000 in the device manager (following an update for example), the screen just goes to black as Windows tries to load. If I disable display drivers while in Safe Mode, I can go back to Windows and work in the system until it tries to install the the driver for Intel HD graphics 4000 again.
I go into Safe Mode forever with no problems. Spent a frustrating while investigating, reinstalling, etc further. I have a laptop HP Envy 15 j011dx which shipped with Windows 8, was previously upgraded to 8.1, and finally was recently upgraded to Windows 10.
